Citrine

Citrine derived it's name from the Latin word "citron", which is a fruit related to the lemon.

Citrine is a quartz variety, and is the most popular transparent gem in the yellow to orange colour range.  Not only is this gem hard-wearing, but it also offers a warm and attractive colour.

Citrine comes in an exceptionally large range of sizes.  Jewellery sized citrines are readily available in weights of up to 20cts.

Sources:  Bolivia, Brazil, and Spain.
